History
Les Clefs d'Or Thailand was unofficially formed in 1992 by Khun Suphan Suwannasuthi (Chief Concierge of Shangri-La Bangkok Hotel) and a full member of The Society of The Golden Keys of France which affiliated to Union Internationale Les Clefs d'Or (U.I.C.H). The members at the time was Khun Sanit Boonthong ( Sukhothai Hotel ), Khun Sompol Yamapat (Dusit Thani Hotel ) and Khun Chaturong Siewsutha (The Oriental Hotel) all was awarded for the Golden Keys and full International Membership from Les Clefs d'Or International. Sometimes later on the society expanded the numbers to 15 local members.
On June 25, 1993 the members of The Golden Keys Society have organized the meeting at The Emerald Hotel, Rachadapisek Road to set up a small committee. Khun Suphan Suwannasut, Chief Concierge from The Shangri-La Bangkok has been selected as the Chairman and Khun Chaturong Siewsutha, Asst.Concierge from The Oriental Bangkok has been selected as Vice Chairman of the society.
In 1995, all members of Concierge Society of Bangkok, Thailand have voted Khun Chaturong Siewsutha became the President of Concierge Society of Bangkok. In the same year, the numbers of local member grew to 30 membership and the full members to Les Clefs d'Or Singapore increased to 6 Members. Khun Chaturong Held the title as President for more than four years, during those years he found Concierge's Bangkok Map and Concierge's See Town Project, the Concierge See Town was aimed to increase the knowledge of the city, attractions and tourist highlights. Khun Chaturong also reorganized the Society to conform to Les Clefs d'Or International's regulations.
In the year 2001, Khun Sompol Yamapat (Head Concierge of Dusit Thani Hotel) was elected as the President of Concierge Society of Bangkok. During Khun Sompol's role, The Society started to expand by the numbers of International Les Clefs d'Or members and International Adherent Members and Associate Members. Khun Sompol with the support of Mr. Gerald Soh ( Hotel Plaza Athenee, Bangkok ) had organized International Skills Training for all Concierges in Thailand, and with the help of Khun Jesda Prongsiriwatana ( Public Relations ) launched the 1st issue of Concierge's Key News, Thailand. On 30th June 2002, Khun Sompol retired from his position as a Head Concierge of Dusit Thani Hotel and relinquish his position as The President of Concierge Society of Bangkok.
On August 2002, Khun Rewat Malila (Chief Concierge of Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel) has been assigned to in charge as the President of Concierge Society of Bangkok until the next election of April 2003, which he was again elected as President. At the time, there were 39 Local Members. During the following months, Khun Rewat continued the projects that were left off, the projects were : register Les Clefs d'Or as an official Society, the 4th issue of Bangkok Map, 3rd issue of Concierge's Key News and plans to summit Concierge Society of Bangkok as an independent Chapter. Khun Rewat was also the first President to welcome and hosting the annual Asian Congress in Bangkok which taken place at Amari Watergate Hotel on 27th -30th May 2004. Shortly after the congress was over Khun Rewat had left his position as Chief Concierge at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel and relinquish his position as the president of Concierge Society of Bangkok. During this period, Khun Sanerchart, Vice President has been assigned to in charge of the Concierge Society of Bangkok. Until 26th January 2005 at World Congress in Manila, Philippine, the Concierge Society of Bangkok had finally received its independently and officially approved to become as full Chapter in affiliation with Les Union Internationale Les Clefs d'Or (U.I.C.H). The Concierge Society of Bangkok has changed the name to Les Clefs d'Or Thailand.
On April 2005, Khun Sanerchart Khao-Ngam (Chief Concierge of Landmark Hotel) was voted to become the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand. Under his presidency, he continues to focus on Bangkok Map and website of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand as the communication tools among the member. Apart from that, he also worked on expand the member in the upcountry provinces. He has organized the charitable activities to raise funds for donation in several places.
On April 2007, Les Clefs d'Or Thailand has organized annual general meeting (AGM 2007) in Kanchanaburi province. The main agenda of this congress was election the new Executive Committee to run the organization from 2007 to 2009. Khun Praneet Wangcharoensook was voted as the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand. Khun Praneet and the Executive Committee have created standards for the association, such as associate member checklist and some welfare packages for members: unemployment, medical and healthcare, etc. In March 2009, Khun Praneet and some Executive members have attended the international congress U.I.C.H. Les Cles d'Or in China. This congress, Khun Wirachai, Chief Concierge from Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok has been elected as the 1st Thai candidate for Andy Pongco award 2009.
April 2009, during the Annual General Meeting at Phu Khao Ngam Resort, Khun Suwit Niyom has been elected as the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand. During his presidency, he and his Executive Committee have organized many charitable activities and visited many government sectors to promote the association and make closed relationship with many organizations. During this term, Khun Suwit has revised the organizational chart in order to make sure the operation of the association meet with the high success, he changed the name of AGM section to Event and also add one more section "Training Section" to in charge of the training. In March 2011, Les Clefs d'Or Thailand has organized the Art Exhibition at Central World to raise funds for establish the Phu Foi Lom Narumit Art Centre in Udorn Thani. In addition, Khun Wirachai, Honorary Secretary set up the Mission, Goals and Values of the Les Clefs d'Or Thailand association and wrote the Concierge's song in this period.
April 2011, Khun Suwit Niyom has been elected as the President of Les Clefs d'Or Thailand for another 2 years mandate. He has set up many plans and projects to develop the association and members development skills. The master plans for this year are to organize the seminar for Les Clefs d'Or members and continue the charitable activities to raise fund to help underprivileged children and other places in upcountry areas and also continue to maintain the strongly relationship between concierges and associates member.
